New Big South Board / Big South Pick'Em

Postby OrangeCamel on Thu Feb 04, 2010 11:16 am

New poster here....I'm a mod on the Campbell, A-Sun, and Pioneer Football League message boards.

The Campbell message board, Campbellfans.com, is part of the ncaabbs.com network of messageboards. Since we will no longer be in the A-Sun section after next year, the administrators have already set-up a Big South section for us and we'll move there in '11.....

This has a general conference section and individual boards for each school. UNCAfans.com is linked to the UNC Asheville section. Hopefully, the general conference section, in particular, will be welcomed since there doesn't appear to be any active board like that for Big South schools.

Hope this new Big South board will complement the already-established school boards like uncafans.com and serve as a "central hub".

Also, I know February is late to start a pick'em contest on a new board that no one is registered to yet, but it might be fun. Would be nice to get several posters from various schools.....need some UNCA fans in there! It will go from the Feb 6th games through the end of the regular season.....

Big South Pick 'Em should be pretty fun. Cool site. Hopefully down the road will stop us from having to go to Winthrop and Liberty's boards to talk some crap.

How are yall going to be next year?

You would've won the Big South if you were here this year.

Speaking of campbell:

Interesting article about some of the ways the new gym affects the program, not just homecourt advantage but having some of the 'luxuries' of a modern building.

CU certainly loses a lot next year but they may still be pretty good and a top 3-4 team pre-season entering the conference.

We are looking at November 2011, from what I'm hearing.

Doesn't surprise me...i was hoping the early reports of next winter where going to be correct but these things always seems to get pushed back or delayed for various reasons.

Yeah, we'll lose Rodriguez - Campbell's all-time leading scorer. Someone (who should know) told me we might be as good if not better next year with the recruiting class, though. Attribute that to the new arena.....something that will help UNCA soon. CU can recruit a "better cut of beef", thanks to its new digs.

Recruits are always world beaters until they show up on campus. Not saying that they won't be for CU, just saying that I would reign in expectations a little bit.

Hard to replace a guy like Rodriguez and not see some type of fall off, in my opinion. Nobody you bring in will be as good as him.

Campbell is obviously a talented team this year and in the past several years, but so was GWU when they came into the league. The Big South is nothing if not feast or famine, with the (historical?) exception of Winthrop. Changing the road trips and the regular in and outs of how the league works has to be somewhat tough to any team switching conferences.

Next to jump over and further dilute the automatic bid is ETSU.
