HP wins 82-80 in OT.. GW sucks- they had this game.. oh well..

We have to worry about RU tomorrow to create a 3 way tie for 2nd place..

Gotta take care of business at home!!

Tough loss on a last second tip-in for GWU. A lot of people thought they had the specifics to do well consistently in the Big South after the transition (including me). Hindsight is 20/20, I guess.

I guess we will find out if an extended stay hurts or helps the Highlanders. JW needs only 6 blocks to become the school's all-time leading shot blocker, so probably not today. It is safe to say that JW is going to own that record by the time he finishes. Kind of like Kohn owns the three pointer record. We need a huge game defensively from DJ. Hopefully we can get one or both of them will get into foul trouble early.

Doing a fair job on the boards... guys like Sean shouldn't be passing up wide open shots from 3 pt land just to miss everything off the dribble from 15 ft..

Amir ran JP over as if he were stealing another Playstation!! No call?!? Wow..

Chris with another jacked 3.. DJ either make the dunk or lay it in!! Keep playin this tempo- definitely in Bulldogs favor..

37-28 doggers at the break. obviously we will take it. hope they continue to struggle against our sagging man to man / zone defense.

they seem to be getting all of the loose balls and have scored on a few offensive tip-ins. DJ, you gotta throw that one down big fella. need to keep on pushing it on offense, even after made baskets. Glad they didn't call that jump ball there at the end, as we would've gotten it on our baseline with two seconds left. much rather have it to start the second half.

I'm either impressed with the defense or not impressed with the eastern eurasian national team's ability to shoot. I'm going with the former over the latter. John has been really good so far. We'll have to keep up the intensity to carry the game. We really can't afford to take any defensive possessions off.

I don't mind the missed dunk for DJ so much.. it's the dribble drives/traveling that's bothering me right now.. again, he's a freshman but at some point in time he needs to concentrate on what he can do well, not improvising while handling the ball 18 ft from the rim..

JW doing a great job right now, 5 pts/5 blocks/4 boards- looking to break the school record in career blocks.. especially nice for a junior!!

Alum- I agree that block was better for UNCA to not be called a jump ball.. continue to take care of the ball, keep sagging that zone smothering RU's big 3 (I wish we would identify their shooters better when sagging though).. refs obviously aren't going to call much contact, unless they change their stance this 2nd half..

Let's Go 'Dogs!!

The big downside to how we are playing is that neither LF nor Art have any fouls. So if they start making some jumps shots we won't have any help down low.

I don't understand what that has to do with their lack of fouls...

I'd be more worried about that lazy a$$ pass of Sean's to start the 2nd half.. C'mon man!!

We have stopped doing a good job denying the ball down low. Apparently we don't think it is necessary anymore.

Will really be nice when DJ learns how to move his feet on defense.. I mean if Big Art's going to go around you, you could at least in turn box him out after the first shot maybe?? We need to go back into that zone..

The double team on the post needs to come from another guy other than the guard on the strongside.. that's an easier pass than trying to identify where the double-team is going to come from... plus RU won;t iss every shot from outside- especially when wide open.. that's more of what we're doing right now..

Go figure they are throwing in everything this half.

Banked in three? Get out of here. Combine that crap with the one guy hitting his first two threes of the year and it more than outweighs John's three in the first half.

Need to do a better job of attacking this zone. Need to continue to get it to the high post. Sean needs to knock some shots down late.

Or it might help if half the team weren't playing zone while the others play man-to-man..

Yes they are- refs really bailed Dickey out on that last one- he lost that ball well before the contact but that's the way they're calling it so keep doing it!!

They've probably matched their season total from three in this game alone.

I hate Amir Johnson. Dude always hits shots against us.

Dickey with his hands down, raked the shooters arm.. C'mon guys gotta be smarter than allowing a 3 point foul each & every game!!
